To be eligible for this grant cycle, organizations must serve Coweta residents and meet one of the following focus areas:
1. Health and Human Services:
* Healthcare Services: Hospitals, clinics, mental health services, and health education programs.
* Social Services: Support for families, elderly, and individuals facing homelessness or substance abuse issues.
* Disability Services: Advocacy, support, and services for individuals with disabilities.
* Emergency Relief and Disaster Assistance: Providing immediate aid and long-term support during and after natural disasters or crises.
* Attainable Housing: affordable housing projects, homeownership assistance, and housing advocacy
2. Education and Youth Development:
* K-12 Education: Supporting public and private schools, after-school programs, and educational resources.
* Higher Education: Colleges, universities, scholarships, and research institutions.
* Youth Development Programs: Mentorship, leadership training, and extracurricular activities for young people.
* Adult Education and Workforce Development: Continuing education, vocational training, and job readiness programs.
3. Arts, Culture, and Humanities:
* Arts and Cultural Organizations: Museums, theaters, galleries, and cultural festivals.
* Historical Preservation: Conserving and promoting historical sites and artifacts.
* Public Media and Communications: Public broadcasting, educational media, and community journalism.
* Literary and Performing Arts: Support for writers, musicians, dancers, and other artists.
4. Environmental and Food Sustainability:
* Environmental Conservation: Protecting natural resources, wildlife habitats, and promoting sustainability.
* Climate Change and Energy: Advocacy and initiatives for renewable energy and climate action.
* Animal Rescue and Welfare: Shelters, rescue organizations, and wildlife protection.
* Agriculture and Food Security: Sustainable farming practices, food banks, and hunger relief programs.
5. Women and Children’s Services:
* Women’s Health and Empowerment: Healthcare, reproductive rights, leadership programs, and advocacy for women’s rights.
* Domestic Violence and Abuse Support: Shelters, counseling, legal aid, and support services for survivors.
* Child Welfare and Protection: Foster care, child advocacy, prevention of child abuse, and support services.
* Economic Empowerment: Job training, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship programs for women and families.
* Letters of Intent (LOI): Open August 1st – August 31st.
* Application Period: Open September 1st – October 15th, 2024 (following LOI approval).
* Site Visits: Scheduled during LOI application for end of September through October.
Organizations will receive advance notice of site visits, which should include a facility tour and a meeting with the top executive.
Grant Awards: Announced in December 2024.
