Resources for Existing Nonprofits

If you are already involved with a nonprofit agency, the following are some of the best resources we have found.
Some of the organizations listed below require membership for access to their resources. However, the Coweta Community Foundation provides certain training and information to local nonprofits through our partnerships.

The Foundation Center Atlanta

Georgia Center for Nonprofits

National Council of Nonprofits

Philanthropy Southeast

National Council on Foundations

Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta

West Georgia Nonprofit Network

As the southside Funding Network partner with the Foundation Center of Atlanta, we offer access to the Foundation Directory Online—a comprehensive database of over 140,000 grantmakers, updated weekly. With its filters and tools, you can quickly identify potential funders.

To use this resource, please contact our office at (770) 253-1833 to schedule an appointment. Note that access to the directory is by appointment only.

Want to Start a Nonprofit?

Starting a nonprofit to serve others is not a choice to be taken lightly.

Helping others starts with passion, but it also requires careful planning. The first step is determining if your community truly needs your service. Check if another organization is already meeting this need—if so, consider partnering with them to avoid overlap, which can create confusion and reduce impact. We frequently receive requests about starting nonprofits and are here to help guide you.
