Young Professionals In Philanthropy

The Young Professionals In Philanthropy is a joint venture between The Coweta Community Foundation and The Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce. The mission of this program is designed to engage and educate young professionals in volunteer community service and philanthropy at one's own pace.

Throughout this program, young professionals in our community will learn about conducting due diligence on a nonprofit, asking the question of what do you expect of me?, learning about what one should expect from the nonprofit, also if they are looking to the individual to be a worker bee or are they thinking more of a leadership role. This program is also designed to help the individual determine what their service passion is and connect them with an organization in the community where they want to serve. At the final meeting of the year, the group will hear from 10 different nonprofit agencies and how they serve Coweta citizens.

Upon completion of the program, a Young Professional can request (or a nonprofit can request) to be placed at a specific nonprofit.

The group is lead by Coweta Community Foundation Board member, Herb Cranford and Community Leader Matthew Swope. The next meetings for 2017-2018 are as follows:

August 15th - Topic: Conducting Due Diligence on the nonprofit agency

November 14th - Topic: What should you expect from the nonprofit agency?

February 13th - Topic: What does the nonprofit agency expect from you? Leadership or Worker Bee?

May 15th - Topic: How do you find your passion? Introduction to nonprofits of Coweta.
